The authorities of Yakutia are finalizing the concept of creating an Arctic Advanced Development Zone (ADZ) for the extraction and processing of mineral resources in the north-east of the region. This was announced on Tuesday by the head of the republic Aisen Nikolaev on the sidelines of the Gaidar Forum.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Yakutia prepared an application to the Ministry of Eastern Development of the Russian Federation on the creation of an ADZ with the provisional name “Subsoil Use and Resource Processing” for the development of mineral resources in the north-east of the region.
"I studied the business plan [ADZ], I see that it is "raw." From the point of view of anchor residents, investment guarantees there are many questions. The project from all sides should be finalized in the region,” he said.
The implementation of the project, in advance, will help attract investments in the amount of 27 billion rubles and create about 1.7 thousand jobs. Four anchor investors were declared as part of the ADZ. The creation of ADZ corresponds to the objectives of the state program Socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, according to which it is planned to stimulate the extraction and processing of mineral resources.
According to the program, the prospects for the industrial development of the northeast of the Arctic zone of Yakutia are associated with the extraction of tin, gold, rare earth metals, hydrocarbons, coal, and the collection of mammoth bone.
