On January 9, the Ministry for External Relations and Peoples' Affairs of the RS (Y) held a meeting with Italian ultra-marathoner Paolo Venturini, who arrived in Yakutsk to run a marathon along the Oymyakon - Tomtor route.
This is not the first visit of the Italian to Yakutia. In February last year, he had a trial race at a temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius, and in the summer he visited Ysyakh festival and outlined a route for a marathon that he would run next week.
The team of Paolo Venturini will arrive in Yakutsk on January 15, but for now the Italian extreme sports enthusiast adapts to the local time and weather with his wife Virtus.
Paolo Venturini will make a heroic attempt as part of the ‘Monster Frozen’ project. The project is being implemented with the support of the government of the Republic of Sakha, as well as representatives of Italian diplomacy in Russia and the Italian police, to which the extreme sportsman belongs.
The project will be filmed a documentary, the shooting of which has already begun. The film will be aired on the national Italian and international channels, and will also be shown at film festivals, the press service of the Ministry for External Relations and Peoples' Affairs of Yakutia reports.
