The ALROSA Environmental Center conducts a republican contest Language of Ancestors and invites children from 7 to 18 years old to take part in it.
“The United Nations Organization declared 2019 the International Year of Indigenous Languages. The Company decided to support this initiative and hold a thematic competition. It is needed primarily to preserve and maintain the ancestral traditions of the indigenous peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), to develop the cultural level of the local environment, creativity of children in settlements, and support for collective creativity. We understand how important it is to form a self-awareness among the younger generation in order to preserve the original habitat and traditional way of life of indigenous peoples. The competition will be held on the territory of Yakutia in three stages. We accept applications from both individual participants and groups, that is, amateur art groups, soloists, duets, family ensembles can present their works to us. The age of participants is up to 18 years old," explained the deputy chief engineer for the environment and work with the indigenous and small-numbered peoples of the North, the head of the ALROSA Environmental Center, Polina Anisimova. To disclose the topic, participants can use various types of artistic, oratorical and stage art - performing dances, songs, playing music, reciting poems and ballads. The presentation should be devoted to the ethnic foundations of the original habitat and the traditional way of life of the indigenous peoples of the North. The regulations of the contest can be downloaded from the ALROSA official website http://www.alrosa.ru/
It should be noted that this competition, organized by the ALROSA Environmental Center, is included in the plan of mandatory social and environmental measures approved and adopted by the Company. In 2019, about 2 million rubles will be spent on the implementation of this plan.
