At St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the head of Yakutia, Egor Borisov, and Nikolai Shulginov, CEO of JSC RusHydro, signed an agreement on June 1 to ensure reliable energy and heat supply to the republic's consumers.

RusHydro plans to implement new projects, recognized as priority in the territory of the republic when there are confirmed sources of financing, when forming investment programs of a group of subsidiaries. The Company intends to pursue a policy of reducing costs, appliance of the most effective and modern technologies. In addition, the Company will assist in the organization of events timed to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Yakut ASSR.

The region plans to assist RusHydro in allocating land allotments, construction permits, approving design documentation for power facilities in accordance with the current legislation.

The agreement provides for the item on the expediency of consolidating the state property of the republic in the electric power industry on the basis of Yakutskenergo. Such an association is conducted to restore order in the electric grid complex of the region. Often, the rapid elimination of accidents causing interruption of electric power supply is stopped due to a very simple reason - the need to look for numerous "hosts" of networks in order to coordinate with them the conduct of repair work. The disconnection of the electric grid complex remains a serious brake on the way of improving the quality of electricity supply. In the long run, ordinary consumers of services suffer from this.

By the order of the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in March of this year, a special working group has been created to deal with the issues of introducing electric power facilities of the region into the authorized capital of Yakutskenergo. As a result, the share of the republic in the Company should be at least 25% plus 1 share.

At a briefing following the signing of the agreement, Egor Borisov emphasized the importance of this fact: "This document is very important for Yakutia. The agreement will be the basis for ensuring reliable energy and heat supply to consumers."

According to Egor Borisov, despite the fact that the energy sector in the republic is represented by all types of generation - hydroelectric power plants, diesel power plants and thermal power plants - providing high-quality energy and heat supply is a difficult task for the region. "Life support of our northern region depends on the effective and sustainable operation of power facilities," - said Borisov.

Nikolai Shulginov confirmed that Yakutia and RusHydro are long-standing partners. "Together we implement complex, even unique projects," he said, citing the construction of YAGRES-2, which is scheduled for commissioning in the third quarter of this year.

"By this agreement we fix and actualize the directions of our joint activity, confirm the continuity of those agreements that were reached earlier. It is important for us to jointly work out a program for the development of global energy, increase the reliability of heat supply for the consumers of the republic," Shulginov stressed.

Cooperation on the consolidation of power facilities on the basis of PJSC Yakutskenergo will become one of the most important strategic directions for joint work. "It is necessary to clarify the list of these objects in order to understand what kind of asset is being talked about," - explained the head of the corporation. The share of the region in the authorized capital of the Company will be determined based on the results of these activities.
