As a result of 2017, in general, the growth of small and medium-sized businesses by 2.4% is observed in the republic by 2016. The average number of people employed in small and medium-sized enterprises reached 75.6 thousand people.
In the Central Economic Zone, the largest increase in the number of small and medium-sized businesses in relation to 2016 was recorded in Kobiai district, where the growth rate was 6.23%. Churapcha district ranks second with 3.35%, the third place is given to Taatta district with 2.71% and Gorny with 2.65%.
In the Western Economic Zone, Suntar district is leading with the growth by 7.07%, Vilyui district is in second place - 3.27% and Olekma district with 2.65% is on the third place.
Three districts of the Eastern Economic Zone were ranked as follows: Ust-Maya with 7.74%, Oymyakon with 3.3% and Tompo with 1.61%.
The largest increase in percentage terms of the previous year in the Southern Economic Zone occurred in Aldan district - 2.59% and in Mirny district - 2.49%. In Lensk and Neryungri districts, the growth is almost the same - 1.36% and 1.33% respectively.
The districts related to the Arctic Zone of the republic also show an increase in the number of small and medium-sized businesses. So the greatest growth was recorded in Allaikha district - 14.6. Eveno-Bytantai district - 13.39%, Zhigansky district 11.84%.
