ALROSA is among the leaders of the two indices of corporate sustainability, responsibility and openness, formed by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP)

The results of 5th annual set of indices were announced on December 11. RSPP recognized ALROSA as one of the leaders in two indices - Responsibility and Openness, which reflects the volume and quality of information disclosure, and Vector of Sustainable Development, reflecting the direction of change and the performance of companies in the field of sustainable development.

The study takes into account the data of public non-financial reporting of the largest companies from the RAEX-600 (“Expert”) and RBC-500 ratings. According to the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, companies gradually reveal an increasing amount of information. Indicators such as labor productivity, staff turnover, greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact in general stand out in particular. More attention is paid to highlighting the effectiveness of investments in supporting the development of local communities.

“It is a great honor for us to be among the leaders of Russian business in the field of sustainable development. Such a high result indicates that we are moving in the right direction in accordance with the adopted strategy. ALROSA tries to conduct an open dialogue with all interested parties and discloses any relevant information in as much detail as possible. In our work we are guided by the best international practices and standards of social responsibility, maintaining a decent standard of living in the regions of our production activities," noted ALROSA CEO Sergei Ivanov.

The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) has been compiling Corporate Sustainability, Responsibility and Openness indices annually, starting in 2014. The project is based on the understanding of corporate social responsibility as an organization’s responsibility for the impact of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, including the economic, environmental and social aspects of this impact.

RSPP indices in the field of sustainable development is the first and so far the only Russian tool for independent assessment of companies, which is included in the International Sustainable Development Rating Base (GISR).
