The gross regional product of Yakutia has increased by 5 percent, said Maya Danilova, the regional economy minister. At a meeting of the government of Yakutia on February 25, she made a report on the results of the socio-economic development of the republic for 2018 and the tasks for 2019.

2018 was the year of new goals for the socio-economic development of the republic, high results were achieved in all macroeconomic indicators. “Today, the government meeting considered the problematic issues of the economy, which are not yet systematically resolved in the republic. These include a decline in production indicators in the processing industries, which in 2018 amounted to 2.6 percent. We continue to reduce production in the food and woodworking industries. Therefore, it is precisely to these aspects that the attention of members of the government was drawn,” said Maya Danilova.

The minister said that during the government meeting, proposals were made on the need to use the opportunities opened up by national projects identified in the May Decree by the President of the Russian Federation. "This is especially true of national projects related to housing and road construction, so that the volumes that will be achieved during the implementation of these projects will lead to the growth of specific industries," the Minister stressed. In particular, this is due to the increase in gross domestic product of the agricultural sector by 5 percent.

Among the tasks related to the socio-economic development of the republic in 2019, a special place is given to the implementation of 12 national projects. Special attention will be paid to monitoring the progress of implementation of all planned activities.
