In Moscow One Million Trees Spring Campaign was launched on 17 April. It has been held in the Russian capital for the past four years; during this time about 1.5 million trees and shrubs have already been planted on the streets of the megalopolis.
Yakutians were among the first who joined the Moscow main spring eco-event. On one of the oldest streets in Moscow - Staraya Basmannaya - representatives of the republic planted thuja trees. Yakutia supported the Moscow authorities regarding the capital greening, coinciding trees planting with not only the Year of Ecology in Russia, but also with the republican anniversaries. Now Yakutia is planning to plant trees in the heart of Moscow, on the Arbat.
But the main ecological and memorable event will be the opening of the Yakut Alley in the Russian capital, which is planned in the framework of the events dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the 95th anniversary of the YaSSR and the Permanent Representation in Moscow.
