On the basis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Yakutia, an interdepartmental council on scientific and educational cooperation with the People's Republic of China is established. On January 30, the first meeting of the council was held under the chairmanshinship of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Prisyazhny.
The participants stressed the importance and urgency of creating an interdepartmental council for scientific and educational cooperation with China. "We are interested in such an interdepartmental council. Cooperation with China is multifaceted. The number of our students studying there is growing; in 2017 an associated network of schools with the study of the Chinese language has been created. In November 2017, the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science carried out an approbation of the model of the state final certification in the Chinese language. The ties of the municipal districts with the provinces of China are being strengthened. These are all positive moments, but there are some difficulties, for the solution of which this council was created,” said Mikhail Prisyazhny.
Participants of the meeting discussed a number of issues on the popularization of the study of the Chinese language in the schools of the republic: on the possibility of introducing the Chinese language as the main foreign language, providing schools with educational and methodical literature in which the Chinese language is taught, holding joint events, points of interaction with other regions and the Chinese Consulate General in Russia, the press service of the republic's Ministry of Education and Science informs.
In November last year, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Education and Science conducted an approbation of the model of the state final certification for the programs of basic general and secondary general education in the Chinese language. A total of more than 1000 students of 9th and 11th grades from 10 regions of Russia took part in the approbation, who will try to pass the Main State Exam and the Unified State Examination in Chinese. Such work on the model of final certification in the Chinese language began in connection with the growing interest in its study in Russia.
The council included representatives of the Department for External Relations, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Family Policy, the Institute of the East of the Office of International Relations of Ammosov NEFU. Department of Oriental Languages of the Institute of Foreign Philology and Regional Studies of the NEFU and teachers of the Chinese language schools of Yakutsk.
