ALROSA Airlines summed up the results for 2018. The number of passengers exceeded 527 thousand, which is 18% more than a year earlier. Average flight occupancy increased by almost 1.6 percentage points - from 82.2% to 83.8%.
The growth in passenger traffic is associated with an increase in the number of flights according to the central schedule and customized flights at the request of oil and gas companies and the transportation of tourists.
Last year, ALROSA Airlines made a total of 2,694 flights, which is 177 more than in 2017. The number of flights according to the central schedule increased by 42, to 2007. The number of customized flights, the average occupancy rate of which was 100%, increased by 135, to 687. Physical flight hours for all types of aircraft increased by 4%, to 29.4 thousand hours.
In 2018, the airline expanded its fleet with two Boeing 737-700 aircraft, and launched a flight program from Krasnodar to Larnaca (Cyprus) in the summer. In addition, the airline received a certificate for the maintenance of Boeing-type aircraft in accordance with the requirements of European Aviation Legislation, becoming the only organization that has such a certificate in the conditions of the Far North. The certificate allows the airline to independently perform operational maintenance of aircraft at Mirny airport without the involvement of third parties.
