Moscow, April 12, 2019 - ALROSA won a gold medal for developing a method to control the safety of gem crystals during technological processing by decision of the International Jury of the competitive program of the XXII Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes," held in Moscow in late March.
In the competition program of the Salon, ALROSA presented 4 projects that were appreciated and awarded by the expert commission and the International Salon jury.
In addition to the gold medal, the Company also received a silver medal and the Grand Prix of the Association of European Inventors for the invention of the ‘Dry ore concentration method,’ which makes it possible to increase the efficiency of enrichment of diamond-containing raw materials.
Comprehensive development of scientific and methodological support for exploration work was awarded a silver medal. This is a specialized software for processing and storing large amounts of data accumulated over many years of research on diamonds, satellite minerals and kimberlite rocks. The system allows to test complex hypotheses and solve strategic problems of diamond prospecting geology, including when assessing the prospects for diamond content of both territories and individual kimberlite bodies.
Bronze medal was awarded to the comprehensive development of the scientific and methodological support of the Unified Integrated Mining and Geological Information System (EIGGIS), including a set of computer programs and databases.
For its contribution to the development of the invention, theory and practice of the legal protection of intellectual property, ALROSA was awarded a diploma of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation.

The Archimedes Salon is a launching pad for entering the market of new breakthrough inventions and technologies. Up to 80% of the results of intellectual activities presented at the Salon are introduced into production, which shows the high efficiency of the Salon.
