The parties discussed the construction of a bridge over the Lena River
As part of his working visit to Japan on December 5, the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, met with the Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade of Japan, the Minister of Japan for cooperation with Russia in the field of economics, Hiroshige Seko.
Mr. Seko thanked the head of Yakutia for the warm welcome of the Japanese delegation during his visit to Yakutsk this June, where the third regular joint meeting on inter-parliamentary dialogue was held with the participation of members of the Discussion Club and the Consultative Council.
During the meeting, Aisen Nikolaev and Hiroshige Seko discussed projects that are being implemented in the republic with the participation of Japanese investors, such as the construction of a wind farm in Yakutia, implementation of the third stage of the year-round greenhouse complex project in Yakutsk with participation of the Hokkaido Corporation Japanese company.
The parties addressed issues related to assistance in the participation of Japanese companies in conducting a feasibility study on the construction of a bridge across the Lena River. For his part, Mr. Seko said that he had taken personal control over the participation of Japanese companies in the implementation of investment projects in Yakutia and promised to continue to provide full support for joint work.
Also on December 5, strategic negotiations were held with a number of Japanese companies on issues in the field of urban economy, waste recycling, high technology, etc.
On December 6, Aisen Nikolaev met with the Governor of the JBIC Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Tadashi Maeda where issues of joint implementation of infrastructure projects in Yakutia were also discussed. In particular, Mr. Maeda assured the Yakut side of the Japanese bank’s readiness to actively support projects in the field of agriculture and digital development, the press service of the head and government of the republic reports.
