The head of Yakutia noted that FOCL has a positive effect on the development of territories where, on average, the gross regional product grows by 5%: “We expect a significant increase in the GRP of these three regions due to the arrival of high-speed Internet,” said Aisen Nikolaev.
With the launch of the Vilyui Express, Rostelecom provided a minimum throughput rate of 10 gigabits per second with the possibility of significant expansion. As the director of the Sakhatelecom branch of Rostelecom PJSC Konstantin Voitekhovsky noted, today the company offers unlimited tariff plans to the population, and each household has the opportunity to receive services up to 100 megabits per second. “As for costs, they, of course, will come down,” he added.
“We consider this project one of the priorities for the republic. With the Ministry of Communications of Russia and Rostelecom, we will continue to work out the project as part of the National Program for the Development of the Far East," said the head of the republic.
It should be noted that, in just eight months, over 650 km of fiber optic lines were laid along the route of the Vilyui Express, covering 22 settlements. Over 53 thousand residents of Yakutia got access to high-speed Internet.
