Yakutia and Japan discuss prospects for further cooperation

As part of the visit to Sakhalin, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Vladimir Solodov, had a meeting with Chairman of the Japan Committee for Assistance to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia),
Deputy Chairman of the International Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Horia Manabu. During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further international cooperation.

Vladimir Solodov, Chairman of the Government of Yakutia: “In recent years, we note that the interaction between the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Japan is reaching a qualitatively new level. This became clear after the visit of the Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev to Japan in December 2018. Now we are implementing a number of investment projects in the field of economic development, including a unique greenhouse complex in the suburbs of Yakutsk, as well as wind turbines in the village of Tiksi. I am confident that in the future we will be able to actively develop investment cooperation in the field of agriculture and in the field of energy."

In turn, the Japanese delegation, which included Advisor to the Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Yukio Satomura, Vice President of the Olympic Committee of Japan, Yasuo Saito and Horia Manabu, Chairperson of the Japan Committee for Assistance to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), expressed willingness to participate in all innovative projects of Yakutia, to continue the construction of wind power plants in the villages of Chersky and Zhigansk, to study the terrain for the implementation of The City of Smart Farming project and to implement no less large-scale projects in the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Press Service of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) informs, Vladimir Solodov invited guests from Japan to take part in 2nd Martial Arts Festival to be held in Yakutsk in May 2019.
