Employees of Tiksi Airport were awarded with diplomas of Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia. This was reported on the website of ‘Airports of the North’ Federal State Enterprise.
"For high professionalism and efficiency in carrying out rescue operations at the crash site of IL-18 aircraft, Tiksi Airport employees - rescuers Maksim Mezhenkov, Mikhail Berezkin and Innokenty Koryakin – are awarded with diplomas and letters of gratitude from the head of Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia. Also, the staff of search and rescue service for maintenance of flights was awarded cash prizes by Airports of the North,"- said in a statement.
On December 19 in Bulun area near the village of Tiksi IL-18 made a rough landing. Emergency and Rescue team that comprised of staff members of rescue services, medical personnel and rescue workers immediately left the airport to the place of the crash. Well coordinated work of all services allowed to quickly evacuate 38 people to a medical institution - passengers and crew members.
