2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Problems and prospects of development of the Arctic zone of the North-East of Russia’ will be held in the branch of the North-Eastern Federal University in Anadyr on April 5-6. The application for participation was submitted by more than 170 Russian and foreign scientists, the press service of the university reports.
Relevance of the topic is due to the ever increasing interest of the world community in the Arctic, the organizers say. The goal of the Conference is to discuss actual problems and directions of industrial development of the North-East of Russia, ecological and social and economic problems of the region. Besides, the issues of using innovative high-performance technologies in production and life will be considered.
"The circle of conference participants is wide - applications from different cities of Russia and foreign countries such as Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Japan, the USA, Germany have been received," comments the director of the Chukotka branch of the NEFU Sergey Popov.
According to him, the first conference brought together many interested people, ranging from scientists, subsoil users and ending with representatives of government bodies and public organizations, including the Association of Indigenous Peoples of Chukotka - the interests of all parties were represented.
The conference will work in five areas: Issues and Directions of Development of Industry in the Region; Ecology and Health Protection; Social and Economic Problems of Arctic Development; Innovative and Highly Effective Technologies for Life and Nature Management; Young Researchers on the Future of the Arctic.
