The North-Eastern Federal University together with the Krakow Agricultural University (Poland) organize an international student expedition "In the country of the snow leopard and argali: Central Asia 2018"
"The work of the expedition is planned for September of this year. The recep of applications stops on July 31. The expedition program covers four states of Central Asia - Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. Participants will work in seven fields of research: geography, ecology, biology, geobotany, agriculture, history and culture," reports Svetlana Ivanova, an associate professor of the Institute of Natural Sciences.
The expedition will be stationed in Uzbekistan for one week, where the group will visit the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Urgench. In these centers of culture and science, as noted by Svetlana Ivanova, unique historical monuments have been preserved. Then the group will proceed to the Aral Sea, the region of a current ecological catastrophe.
"Later the research will be done in Tajikistan. There we will visit the capital city, Dushanbe. The third week of the expedition will take place in one of the most picturesque corners of the planet - Kyrgyzstan. The expedition will finish its work in Kazakhstan," the project coordinator said.
Bachelors, undergraduates, graduate students interested in natural sciences, tourism, problems of geography, biology, ecology, history and ethnography can take part in the expedition.
