Vasily Egorov won the gold medal in weight category up to 49 kg for the second time in a row at the European Boxing Championship in Kharkov (Ukraine).
A representative of the Yakut boxing school, a native of the Megino-Kangalas ulus Vasily Egorov had three fights in the ring of the Ukrainian city. In the first fight, he won a convincing victory over the tournament host Nazar Kurochin, and then in the semifinals he upset the Belarusian Evgeny Karmilchuk.
In the final fight of the championship he was opposed by the boxer from Great Britain Yafai Galai. Yielding to the rival in power Vasily focused on the speed, which brought him success. Our boxer quickly moved around the ring and effectively counterattacked. Vasily Egorov won the fight with a score of 3: 2 and the second time won the title of European champion.
Ahead of the Yakut boxer is the World Championship, which will be held in Hamburg (Germany) August 25 - September 3.
