Yakut boxer lost to athlete from the Philippines
Vasily Egorov lost to Ian Clark Bautista of Philippines in the fight for reaching the finals of the Feliks Stamm International Tournament in Poland. The fight ended with a score of 4: 1 in favor of the finalist of the Games of Southeast Asia. Earlier, our boxer won two fights – with the local fighter Maciej Jodwick and the participant of the Olympic Games from Germany, the prize-winner of the European Games Hamza Touba.
These competitions were the first at the international level in a new weight of up to 52 kg for the Honored Master of Sports Vasily Egorov. All his great achievements - the silver medal of the World Cup, two gold of the European continent and the title of multiple champion of Russia, he won in the category up to 49 kg.
The first experience of fights in the new weight category Vasily held in February in Yakutsk at the All-Russian competitions in memory of Aleksandr Fedotov, where he won a gold medal. After the finals, Vasily confessed that he wanted to try himself in a new category due to the difficulty of cutting weight: "I cannot say for sure if I stay in the new weight. Russian Championship, fortunately, will not take place tomorrow, so I'll have time to think over. I need to prepare for this tournament. Now it's already hard for me to cut the weight off - not like three years ago. In 2017, I cut weight 5 times. Last time at the World Championships. Psychologically and physically it is very difficult to box in such conditions. So we'll see."
