The World Cup in freestyle wrestling will be held in Yakutsk in March 2019, said the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail Mamiashvili.
For the first time, Russia hosted these competitions in 2007, when the World Cup was held in Krasnoyarsk. Subsequently, the tournament was held in Vladikavkaz (2008), in Moscow (2010) and Kaspiysk (2011). The eight top teams take part in the World Cup.
“It was approved that the 2019 World Cup in freestyle wrestling will be held in Yakutsk on March 15-17,” Mikhail Mamiashvili said to RIA Novosti in a telephone interview.
