The national team of Japan will present the strongest composition at the upcoming World Cup in freestyle wrestling in Yakutsk. This is evidenced by the application list of the team to participate in the tournament, according to the official website of the 2019 World Cup.
The team consists of two world champions, winners of world and Asian championships. The national team will be headed by Takuto Otoguro, winner of the last World Cup in Budapest. This 20-year-old wrestler showed a sharply attacking fight at the 2018 World Cup, and his final fight with Bazhrang Bazhrang from India in the weight category up to 65 kg was recognized as the most spectacular in 2018.
World Champion and Asia 2017 Yuki Takahashi will also come to Yakutsk for the World Cup. He is also the winner of the World Championship and the winner of the bronze medal of the 2018Asian Games in the weight category up to 57 kg. The Takatani brothers stand out as part of a team from the Land of the Rising Sun. The elder Sohsuke was a participant in the London Olympics and a silver medalist at the 2014 World Cup, and his brother Daichi is the winner of the Dmitry Korkin international tournament in Yakutsk. In 2017, in the Triumph Center for Sports Training the Japanese excelled in the weight category up to 65 kg.
In total, in the preliminary list of the national team of Japan there are 12 athletes. In the weight categories up to 65 and 125 kg there are also odd participants in the team, this is allowed according to the competition regulations. The delegation from Japan will come to the World Cup in Yakutsk in full: coaches, a judge, a massage therapist, a doctor and a media representative.
The Japanese team is the bronze medalist of the 2018 World Cup, held in Iowa City (USA).

Wrestlers from eight countries are expected to participate in the World Cup in freestyle wrestling among men on March 15-17 in Yakutsk: Japan, Georgia, Cuba, Turkey, Mongolia, Iran, USA and Russia. The event is held in the capital of the republic at the suggestion of the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, which is supported by the International Wrestling Federation UWW (United World Wrestling).
