The authorities of the Chinese province of Anhui, where more than 70 million people live, decided to build a "Russian Village" in the area of the world famous Tianzhu Mountain, where Chinese and foreign tourists can get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Russia
This was told to journalists by the Minister of the Russian Federation for Development of the Far East, Aleksandr Galushka, during a press briefing following the working visit to the People's Republic of China.
The governor of the Province of Anhui, Li Guoin, announced the idea of creating a "Russian Village" in a place known to tourists from around the world - Tianzhu Mountain, at a meeting with the head of the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East, held in Hefei. The head of the Ministry supported the idea.
"Today, this decision is made by the Province authorities. We support this decision and believe that it will contribute both to attracting tourists from Russia here, and to increasing the interest of all tourists from China and other countries who visit this unique place," the Minister specified.
As the head of the Province noted at the meeting with the Russian delegation, "in the future, Russian tourists who come to Tianzhu Mountain will be able to feel at home, and Chinese and foreign tourists will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the traditions, customs and culture of the Russian people." He explained that one of the reasons for this decision is the popularity of the region among Russian tourists.
It is planned that in the tourist village it will be possible to buy goods of Russian folk crafts and other goods from Russia.
"The project is new, but with great potential. I hope that in the future, between the province of Anhui and Russia, primarily its Far Eastern macro region, the spheres of cooperation will expand, a solid base for this already exists. This project can be the first step for practical cooperation between us, " said Li Guoin. According to the governor, in China tourism is developing very actively.
"Today, the number of Chinese tourists is growing rapidly, more and more residents of China are interested in foreign tourism. We are also interested and working to ensure that our tourists choose the Russian Far East for travel and recreation," Li Guoin said at the meeting.
The Minister of the Russian Federation for Development of the Far East, Aleksandr Galushka is on a working visit to the People's Republic of China. Today the head of the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East attended the opening ceremony of the Russian-Chinese Tourism Forum. He also had a meeting with the authorities of Anhui Province. At the meeting, the parties, along with issues of investment and economic cooperation, also discussed issues of joint cooperation in the field of tourism. The day before, the head of Minvostokrazvitiya participated in a business conference organized by the Agency of the Far East on attracting investments and supporting exports for investment cooperation, during which the leaders of the largest companies of Anhui Province learned about new conditions for investing in the Far Eastern macro region.
